Patch #3 Notes

An update to Primal Carnage: Extinction has been released. The update will be applied automatically when you restart Primal Carnage: Extinction. The major changes include:


  • Added killicons for the Shotgun, Deagle, Assault Rifle, and Tupa Ram
  • Switched F2 to toggle the HUD for cinematic/realism situations
  • Lowered critical hit multiplier from 1.5 to 1.2
  • Fixed exploit where certain special attacks could not be performed on crouching players
  • Disabled ragdoll manipulation
  • Updated default TDM score count to 50
  • Added configurable class proportion and class hard limit options for server owners
  • Set default Tyrant class proportion to 1 Tyrant per 10 players
  • Disabled framerate smoothing by default
  • Spectators no longer show up on a team on the scoreboard
  • Optimized various parts of the game code to cut down on CPU calls on client
  • Players now die before class select when switching teams
  • Optimized texture memory usage

Economy and Loadout

  • Improved Economy backend and hopefully fixed certain players not receiving items
  • Added some better reliability to Economy update calls
  • Added Agent Trapper Sunglasses item


  • Modified all dinosaur camera pivot points to be around the head
  • Decreased Ptera and Tupa base air speeds
  • Decreased Raptor and Dilo turn speed slightly
  • Ptera will now drop victims when taking a threshold of 40 damage
  • Added minimum stamina requirement in order to initiate a Ptera grab
  • Flyer classes now drop when crashing into obstacles
  • Increased field of view that marks players that the Flyer roars highlight
  • Increased visibility of Flyer and Ovi roar highlights
  • Raptor will now abort maul when taking a threshold of 40 damage
  • Increased Raptor maul damage
  • Decreased Raptor net animation duration
  • Raptor can now properly be netted mid-pounce
  • Fixed Alpha Carno showing up incorrectly at a certain distance
  • Increased size of Tyrant bite detection
  • Possibly fixed eat victims sometimes getting stuck in Tyrant mouths
  • Increased Dilo bite damage window
  • Increased Dilo bite speed by 20%
  • Lowered Carno health from 1000 to 800


  • Fixed Dilo spit not showing up on human characters unless in direct sunlight
  • Fixed humans being stuck for a full second after surviving a pounce
  • Throwable items can now heal/resupply up to 5 people
  • Increased Medkit heal amount from 20 to 50
  • Increased Ammokit clip resupply amount from 1 clip to 5 clips
  • Throwable items now use a more realistic physics system
  • Decreased human sprint speed
  • Increased human sprint stamina consumption rate
  • Added human sprint acceleration
  • Fixed humans taking too long to get up from a pounce
  • Added stamina drain to Scientist tranq dartgun
  • Decreased Netgun reload time by 20%
  • Increased Netgun net count from 4 to 5
  • Decreased AR grenade count from 4 to 3
  • Disabled AR grenade autoreload
  • Decreased AR bullet base damage
  • Increased Pathfinder shotgun base damage
  • Modified Pathfinder shotgun sound
  • Fixed Pyro being able to set teammates on fire with the Molotov
  • Added recoil to 2D Sniper scope
  • Increased Dart Gun tranq tolerance for Tyrants
  • Increased sniper rifle scope in speed by 50%


  • Increased the reliability of the team select menu
  • Fixed class select not always appearing after a team swap
  • Added version numbers to the server browser and main menu
  • Fixed “Show secure” from hiding the wrong servers in the server browser
  • Fixed the end-round timer not counting down correctly
  • Fixed pause menu popping up on top of the scoreboard when the scoreboard is open
  • Fixed issues with loot screen during the end-round
  • Fixed player indicator scaling
  • Fixed score indicator scaling
  • Fixed friend/foe highlighting
  • Fixed server query and filtering parameters not saving


  • Added PC-ForestChasmSnow
  • Added PC-UtilityBaseSnow
  • Fixed Tyrants being able to get on Downpour helipad
  • Fixed not being able to spawn as a Tyrant in GTTC-TheFalls
  • Fixed Tyrants being able to get up on the Utility Base wall
  • Fixed several instances of floating grass, ivy, and vines
  • Fixed being able to escape FR-Jungle
  • Fixed being able to see backfacing on Contingency elevators
  • Fixed water planes showing up where they shouldn’t in Jungle and other maps
  • Decreased the size of the GTTC helicopter collisions
  • Added fog to TheFalls dome
  • Added a small shack to the outskirts of Verdant
  • Moved crashed plane to center of Marsh, increased fog, increased height of marsh grass
  • Overhauled the spawnpoints on Verdant
  • Optimized Docks, ForestChasm, ForgottenOutpost, Marsh, TheFalls, UtilityBase, Verdant, Downpour, and Ruthless
  • Dozens of smaller fixes too minor to list

The store, marketplace, and trading
Before we add these three elements to the equation, we want to make sure we’ve ironed out the bigger economy and loadout issues. We plan on making these features live within the next couple of days.
